bit.ly/Subscribe-to-TheBingerThere are almost too many Disney movies to count and the company is on track to produce more films than ever before. Not every idea in the House of Mouse is a good one, though, and plenty of movies never see the light of day. Sometimes these cancellations are for the best, other times they’re a bummer, but there’s almost always a story behind them; and that’s what we’re digging into today.
For instance, Disney cancelled loads of sequels for a variety of reasons. This includes projects like, The Jungle Book 3, The ARistocats 2, Chicken Little: The Ugly Duckling Story, Meet the Robinsons: First Date, Pinocchio 2, the Disney Princess Enchanted Tales sequel, Fantasia 2006, and Treasure Planet 2. Then there are movies that just never took off, like Gigantic and a surprising number of Mickey Mouse projects. Then there are cancelled movies based on other properties, like King of the Elves, The Graveyard Book, and Which Witch. Of course, there are a bunch of different kinds of cancelled Pixar projects, like the original Toy Story 3, Monsters Inc 2, and Finding Nemo 2. Then there are the heartbreaks, like the third MCU Spider-Man film and The Sims movie.
Even if there are almost too many Disney hits dropping every year, these cancellations that the House of Mouse doesn’t always get it right.
