Hey The Things fam! Today, we’re taking a look at who voices Disney’s Luca! The voices behind these characters may look different in some cases, but their performances match the character’s perfectly. Ever wonder what it’s like for a voice actor versus a live actor? You’re in luck because we’ve got footage of what these Luca scenes looked like behind the mic. Jacob Tremblay is no stranger to this type of work. He has actually been a voice performer for many years, voice Pete in Pete and the Cat. He’s also the voice of Flounder in Disney’s live-action remake of The Little Mermaid. Tremblay is joined by another young actor, Jack Dylan Grazer - but this was his first voice over job! He portrays Alberto amazingly well and brings to life the enthusiasm and wild spirit. Emma Berman nails her role as Giuliana, the new friend of Alberto and Luca, training and motivating them so their team can win. Berman’s animation behind the mic is incredible to watch - her performance is just radiating. Maya Rudolph slays as Luca’s mother - her performance as a worried, but spunky mother is spot on. Her comedic chops amp the whole performance up to another level - this is pretty similar to Jim Gaffigan, who normally performs as a stand up comedian. Gaffigan brings the protective and sometimes awkward dad to life perfectly. He looks just as awkward behind the mic when he is worrying about his wife Daniela’s actions! Sacha Baron Cohen is the voice behind the very strange Uncle Ugo - the character is so wild and Cohen knows just how to animate him!
