What’s up my fellow Binge Travelers we have uncovered every Disney movie that is scheduled to be released from now until 2027 and I will tell you right now Disney has a great line-up for 2020 and beyond with a lot of surprises along the way! We will also be releasing videos for every upcoming Marvel, Pixar, and Disney Live Action movie coming to a theater near you. There’s so much to unpack so let’s get into it.
The first Disney movie to be released in 2020 is actually from the Pixar side of things and is titled “Onward” starring Chris Pratt from Guardians of the Galaxies as well as Tom Holland from Spiderman. The cast for this movie looks absolutely spectacular and is scheduled to be released on March 6th With Pixar creating an all new story to begin the year Disney will be kicking things off a little differenty by gaining inspiration from a classic novel. The movie will be titled Artemis Fowl who is a 12 year old boy genius who uses his father's wealth to build crime fighting gadgets and will be released May 29th.
And lucky for us we get yet another Pixar release a couple months after the first going by the title of Soul. As of right now, Soul is described by Disney and Pixar, via social media, as “a journey from the streets of New York City to the cosmic realms, discovering the answers to life's most important questions.” Even for a Pixar film, that is a highly ambitious, yet an incredibly vague concept in my opinion. Given it’s a Pixar film I have no don’ts it will be great.
Of course the highly anticipated sequel to Frozen has already been released in theaters in winter of 2019. But the reason I mention it here is because Frozen 2 will be coming to Disney Plus in May for those of you who missed it when it first dropped. Immediately following Frozen 2s Disney plus release is a Jungle Cruise movie starring your favorite retired WWE wrestler, The Rock and his co star emily blunt. The Jungle Cruise is a spinoff of the popular Jungle Cruise ride at Disney World and DisneyLand. The Rock even made a surprise appearance on the Jungle Cruise ride at Disney World in preparation for the movie. The Jungle Cruise will be released July 24th.
And remember any of these movies have the potential of being cancelled by Disney at any point… any unfortunately I don’t have any control of what Disney cancels but you actually do. Following Disney's summer blockbuster with Dwayne Johnson Disney will be releasing a lesser known movie called “The One and Only Ivan” August 14th starring Angelina Jolie.
Disney's first animated feature Raya and The Last Dragon is set to be released November 25th. The film follows the life of Raya and Sisu her special dragon who flies... by... riding raindrops in South East Asia, sounds interesting. Raya and the Last Dragon will be followed by a very special Disney Live Action movie in the same month, and my full video of every Live Action Disney movie is on it’s way, so be sure you subscribe and ring the bell so you don’t miss it.
Disney will start off 2021 with a brand new adaptation of the Indiana Jones franchise, titled, well you guessed it, Indiana Jones 5 and stars Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones with direction from Steven Spielberg. The film is set to be released July 9th of 2021 but expect some delays... there have been numerous production issues regarding the film as of yet so a release date of later in the year is most likely. As of now July 9th 2021 is the official word for Indiana Jones number 5. To wrap up the year Disney has announced Avatar 2, the much delayed sequel to the highest grossing movie of all time. Avatar 2 was originally scheduled to be released in 2017 but due to countless delays Avatar 2 will be hitting theaters December 21st, 2021. With the following years having numerous Avatar sequels and even more Pirates of the Caribbean Movies.
In 2022 we are expected to be getting a brand new Pirate of the Caribbean movie starring an all new cast of characters and given the recent Johnny Depp controversies I believe Disney will be continuing the story without everyone's favorite pirate captain Jack Sparrow! December 22, 2023 we will be getting the 3rd installment of the Avatar franchise. With the original Avatar being released in 2009 and Avatar 2 being released in late 2021, James Cameron the creator of avatar will only have two years to make the third installment... while the first two Avatar films took 10 years a piece.
