Disney Live-Action Movies Look Different Without CGI Subscribe to our channel: bit.ly/Subscribe-to-Screenrant We all know that Disney has a thing for remakes. It seems like every movie is getting one now, even movies that contain talking animals and no human characters-- we’re looking at you, “Lion King.” Thankfully Disney has talented teams of VFX artists that they use to bring all the magic of their animated classic to life in live-action format. But before the CGI is added, some of the films look pretty ridiculous. Like “Alice in Wonderland”, where the stars spent most of their time interacting with tennis balls and sticks. Or “Beauty and the Beast”, where Dan Stevens had to wear a motion capture suit complete with fake muscles to look 200 pounds heavier. We can’t say that the VFX teams behind these incredible movies aren’t ingenuitive. From creating a tool to digitally create elephant skin for “Dumbo” to using virtual reality to film “The Lion King”, Disney has given its directors and artists a lot of inspiration to use their best and most creative techniques. They’ve created complex flying rigs for “Maleficent” and “Aladdin” and even made the glass slipper fit “Cinderella” after the stubborn shoe wouldn’t slip onto Lily James’ feet. So to satisfy your CGI curiosity, here are 9 of the most popular Disney live-action remakes and how they look when you take away all that VFX magic.
