DISNEY has launched its Christmas advert for 2020, which will melt hearts across the globe with its sweet message of family. Watch the full Disney Christmas advert here.
The festive season is creeping up and big brands and retailers are launching their Christmas campaigns. Many have already unveiled their commercials while others are expected to be releasing theirs in the coming days and weeks. Disney has now shared their heart-warming campaign with a message about family set to a poignant song.
Disney’s animated three-minute-long video follows the tale of one family through various generations, starting off with a little girl called Lola in 1940 given a Mickey Mouse toy as a Christmas gift.
Skip forward to 2005 and Lola is now a grandmother and gifts the soft toy to her granddaughter, who plays with the iconic mouse.
However, as the years go on, one of the toy’s ears becomes ripped from wear and tear.
The granddaughter grows up and discards the toy, much to the sadness of Lola, who leaves the mouse on her coffee table to gather dust.
As the video goes on, the young woman realises she has hurt her grandmother’s feelings and mends the ear before giving it to her on Christmas Day as the story comes full circle.
She also decorates her grandmother’s home with the handmade star decorations they would make together when she was a child.
The video ends with a simple message from Disney: “From our family to yours.”
Like any great Christmas advert, the commercial is sound-tracked by the song Love Is A Compass by UK-based musician
Singer Griff is an Ivor Novello Rising Star nominee who released her debut single The Mirror Talk in 2019 and she is signed with Warner Records.
Love Is A Compass was written by song writing team PARKWILD and is also being released today (November 9) as a charity single with all proceeds going towards Make-A-Wish.
Griff said: “I was excited to get involved in Disney’s Christmas campaign, in support of Make-A-Wish.
“The lyrics of the track and the storytelling in the advert are powerful, and important.
